La Couronne et La Lyre is a personal translation of Ancient Greek poems by Marguerite Yourcenar, the first female writer to be elected in France's prestigious Academie Francaise. An expert in Greek and Latin history and texts, her translations are more poetic and vivid than most existing and more academic ones. Her style is light and very rich, which makes reading this book all the more enjoyable. I highly recommend it!
